MICA Floor

The MICA Floor is one of MICA’s most consistent, community-rooted initiatives — a recurring and highly anticipated forum for dialogue, discourse, and connection. Held monthly across various chapters, MICA Floor provides an interactive platform for Muslims, especially youth and young adults, to engage in conversations that matter — spiritually, socially, intellectually, and emotionally.

It’s not a lecture. It’s not a sermon. It’s not even a panel. It’s the Floor — and everyone gets to sit, speak, and grow.

Nature of the Program

MICA Floor is a rotational community dialogue platform where real questions are asked, unfiltered perspectives are shared, and Islamic knowledge is contextualized to fit modern realities. From mental health to modesty, relationships to religious doubt, MICA Floor offers:

  • Guided conversations on relevant topics
  • Facilitated discourse by knowledgeable scholars, professionals, and youth mentors
  • A platform for audience interaction — live Q&As, breakout sessions, anonymous submissions
  • A blend of spiritual revival and community therapy — grounded in Islamic ethics and wisdom

Who
Facilitates
the
Floor

Speakers and facilitators are carefully curated to match the tone and context of each conversation. They include:

  • Faith-based scholars trained in da’wah, psychology, and community leadership
  • Muslim professionals (therapists, educators, relationship coaches, business leaders)
  • Seasoned youth mentors from MICA’s leadership pool
  • Reverts and lived-experience storytellers who bring rich personal narratives to the floor

The diversity of voices creates a balanced and approachable environment where no one feels left out, overruled, or spiritually talked down to.

Themes Explored on the Floor

Some of the most recurring themes include:

  • Faith and Doubt: “Is it okay to question Islam?”
  • Mental Health: “Am I less of a Muslim if I’m depressed?”
  • Love and Marriage: “Can I find love and still do it the halal way?”
  • Modesty in Modern Times: “Why does hijab feel like a burden?”
  • Family and Identity: “My parents are religious, but I’m struggling silently.”
  • Friendships and Boundaries: “How do I find a tribe that strengthens my imaan?”
  • Culture vs. Religion: “Am I sinful or just cultural?”
