Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Today, we gather to honor a giant of a man, A scholar, a justice, a shining star in the land, Justice Adewale Habeeb Abiru, a name that’s synonymous with grace, A beacon of hope, in a world filled with darkness and disgrace.

He walked the path of knowledge, with a heart full of zeal. From Ereko Methodist to Obafemi Awolowo’s noble steel. With a father’s legacy, he rose to the challenge and more. A master of the law, with a heart that’s pure and sore.

On the bench, he sat, a symbol of justice and might. Delivering judgments, that shone like a guiding light. Constitutional law, electoral law, commercial law too. He interpreted them all, with a wisdom that’s anew. A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, he stands. A leader in alternative dispute resolution, expanding the lands of justice and peace, where all can find a place. A devout Muslim, a family man, with a heart full of grace.

He co-founded MICA, to guide young Muslims on the way, and served with Crescent Bearers, and MUSWEN, day by day. His contributions to Islam, a shining light, a true servant of the faith, in the dark of night.

With integrity, professionalism, and impartiality, he guides. A shining example, for all who step inside,the courtroom, the community, the world at large, Justice Abiru’s impact, will forever discharge.

He’s a husband, a father, a mentor, and a friend, A true embodiment, of what it means to serve and to tend, The garden of humanity, with love and with care,Justice Abiru’s legacy, will forever be there.

So let us celebrate, this giant of a man, A shining star, that will forever expand, The horizons of justice, the boundaries of love, Justice Adewale Habeeb Abiru, a true servant of the Most High above
